Stevenage Day 2012 has been rescheduled for Sunday 26 August.
This year’s event was originally planned for Sunday 10 June but was postponed after King George V Playing Fields became waterlogged and inaccessible.
Stevenage Borough Council has now rearranged the event and is inviting all those who had originally planned to take part in the day to participate on the new date.
Taking place at King George V Playing Fields as always, Stevenage Day will start at 12.30pm and the fun will continue all afternoon.
Councillor Howard Burrell, Executive Member for Children and Young People, Culture, Sport and Leisure, said, “I am very pleased to be announcing that we’ve rescheduled Stevenage Day after the disappointing news last weekend. We are working together with local organisations to put on an impressive display of attractions and I hope that people from Stevenage and beyond will be there on the day to enjoy them.
“Weather permitting, I’m sure that Stevenage Day 2012 will be a great family day out - and well worth waiting for.”
