Stevenage small businesses encouraged to leap ahead in 2012

21 Feb 2012

Stevenage Borough Council and the Federation of Small Businesses are inviting local organisations to make the most of this year’s extra business day by attending the Stevenage Small Business Summit.

The free breakfast-time event on 29 February will give representatives of small local businesses the opportunity to hear an inspirational speaker, network with their peers, question an expert panel, and browse a range of presentations and displays, as well as enjoying a buffet breakfast.

As the summit’s keynote speaker, entrepreneur, author and business mentor Steve Clarke of Eureka Sales will be sharing his tips for business success. The event will also see the launch of FSB Stevenage Small Business of the Year Award, sponsored by Stevenage Borough Council.

The Stevenage Small Business Summit is at the Business and Technology Centre, Bessemer Drive, Stevenage from 7.40 to 9.30am on Wednesday 29 February. Delegates can book online at http://stevenagesmallbusiness.eventbrite.co.uk or contact Alex Francis at alex.francis@fsb.org.uk or 01767 261984 for further information.

Councillor Ralph Raynor, Executive Member for Economy, Enterprise and Transport, said, “These are difficult times for many businesses and, along with our partners, we are committed to doing all we can to support local enterprises. Events such as this provide an excellent insight into successful business practices and allow professionals to share ideas. It’s a useful way to spend the extra working day that this Leap Year provides.”
