If you’re young and achieving great things on the sports field, the stage or academia, take your talent further with a grant from Stevenage Borough Council.
The Talented Young People Grant Scheme seeks to help people between ages 8 to18 who excel in sports, arts and academic endeavours. Applications are open until Friday 11 November, 12 noon.
“There are a huge number of young people in Stevenage with exceptional talent and we want to encourage them to realise their potential by applying for a grant,” said Councillor Howard Burrell, Executive member for Children and Young People, Sport and Leisure.
“Attending training, auditions, competitions, performances and buying equipment and materials for arts and sports can be expensive, so the grant is a practical way of helping young people with these costs, so that they are able to focus on their talent and do Stevenage proud.”
Those successful will be presented with their grant at an awards celebration in January at the Gordon Craig Theatre, to recognise their achievements. This will run alongside the annual Sport Stevenage awards.
Grant applications will be assessed by a panel and based upon the individual’s achievements in their field.
