Funding available to help Stevenage community groups during pandemic

28 Apr 2020

Applications are now open for the Local Community Budget to help Stevenage community groups and organisations fund projects to support those impacted by Covid-19.

Stevenage Borough Council’s Local Community Budget scheme was launched in 2011 to help community groups and organisations to develop an idea, support an existing initiative or deliver a local priority.

Borough Councillors each have a budget of £2,500, and the Youth Mayor has a budget of £3,300, to give to community groups or organisations to help improve the lives of local people. The minimum grant that can be awarded by each Councillor and the Youth Mayor is £100.

Councillor Rob Broom, Executive Member for Neighbourhoods and Co-operative Working at Stevenage Borough Council, said: “This year’s grants are available to local community groups and organisations that need funding to help residents in these difficult times. The Local Community Budget Scheme is a tried and tested way of doing this. Please speak with your local ward Councillors for more details of how the scheme works.”
