Celebrate #OurDay in Stevenage

08 Nov 2016

Take a behind the scenes look at the hundreds of vital local services Stevenage Borough Council provides by following the #OurDay tweetathon on Tuesday 15 November.

From planning and play schemes to refuse and recycling, Stevenage Borough Council will be among many authorities nationwide using the hashtag #OurDay on Twitter. This is the third year Stevenage Borough Council has taken part and followers can expect to check in with our Customer Service Centre, go out and about with our community transport team, cast an eye over Stevenage in our CCTV control room and hear more about housing.

Councillor Sharon Taylor, Leader of Stevenage Borough Council, said: “Day in day out our staff provides services that put us at the heart of the town. OurDay gives us a chance to show the all the vital work we do in the community that goes beyond collecting bins. I would encourage the people of Stevenage to follow @StevenageBC on Twitter and find out what your council does.”

OurDay has been organised by the Local Government Association, which represents more than 370 councils in England and Wales, and the Knowledge Hub.
The LGA is encouraging as many councillors and local authority staff as possible to take a couple of minutes out of their day to tell the world what they’re up to as part of a 24-hour live tweetathon, from 00.01 on Tuesday, by using the hashtag #OurDay.
