A host of Easter treats is on offer for children and young people in the town as Stevenage Borough Council puts on a range of activities at our play centres, parks, and museum over the school holidays.

Activities at Pin Green and Bandley Hill play centres include balloon crafts, junk modelling and a taste challenge, while St Nicholas is holding South American and sports-themed weeks. Holiday play schemes at Bedwell Community Centre and Symonds Green Community Centre will also be offering a range of activities. The centres, welcome to children aged five to 14, are open Monday to Friday from 4 to 15 April.

Children can learn how to help wildlife in their garden at a spring into nature event at the Town Centre Gardens on Wednesday 6 April from 11am till 3pm. Free spring crafts and a fun quiz will be on offer as will face painting at £1 per child.

Stevenage Museum is hosting Easter activities from Wednesday 13 to Friday 15 April. On Wednesday Mr Mower-Head is in town, you can find out how your garden grows on Thursday and on Friday morning you can make paper flowers before a free arts and crafts drop-in session in the afternoon. Sessions take place from 11am till 12pm, and 2pm till 3pm at a cost of £2 per child. There is no charge for concessions.

Aidan Sanderson, Head of Leisure, Environmental Health and Children’s Services at Stevenage Borough Council, said: “We’re offering an action-packed Easter for the young people in our town. Whether you like fun and games or arts and crafts, our play centres, parks and museum have something for all five to 14 year olds to take part in and enjoy.”
