Christmas parties in full swing at sheltered schemes

18 Dec 2015

Stevenage has swung into the festive spirit this week by holding a number of Christmas parties for residents at sheltered housing schemes.

Senior revellers at Fred Millard, Asquith, Hobbs and Truro Courts were just some of the schemes that enjoyed a tasty Christmas lunch as part of the celebrations. Residents at Pitt and Grosvenor Courts were treated to a dance performance and other fun and games for their yuletide entertainment.

Silkin Court heard a wonderful carol concert performed by local school children and residents at Pinewoods will be joined by entertainer Cliff Parsons at their Christmas party on Monday 21 December. Local ward councillors have also played their part in the festivities by putting up Christmas decorations at Truro Court.

Our teams will be on hand over the Christmas and New Year period to provide help and support to residents in sheltered housing schemes.

Councillor Ann Webb, Executive Member for Housing, said: “At this time of year, it is a wonderful for the residents and staff at our sheltered schemes to celebrate Christmas together. The residents as well as staff work tirelessly all year round to make people feel at home and part of a family. I wish them all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
