Stevenage is supporting Small Business Saturday

27 Nov 2015

Stevenage Borough Council is encouraging residents to support local businesses in the town by visiting the Small Business Saturday event taking place in the Town Square on Saturday 5 December.

The event, which is partnered by Stevenage Town Centre Management Company, Stevenage Old Town Business and Community Partnership, and Stevenage Indoor Market, is a chance to celebrate small and local businesses in the area. The Business & Technology Centre (BTC) will also be on hand to offer free business advice in the Town Centre.

Special discounts, offers and give-aways are up for grabs as well as fun-family activities and competitions. Along with the usual free parking available in the High Street, free parking will be on offer during the day in the St Georges multi-storey car park.

Councillor Ralph Raynor, Executive member for Economy, Enterprise and Transport said: “We are delighted to support Small Business Saturday to raise awareness about local entrepreneurs and will be encouraging consumers to ‘shop local’ as Stevenage has some great independent shops and businesses both in the Town Centre and in the High Street. There is something for all the family as well as a vibrant Christmas market in the Town Centre.”

Small Business Saturday takes place in the Town centre and High Street in the Old Town from 9am to 4pm.
