Successful Women’s Tour finish in Stevenage

20 Jun 2015

Thousands of people lined the streets of Stevenage today to watch some of the best female cyclists in the world compete to finish the fourth stage of the Aviva Women’s Tour 2015.

Stevenage Borough Council leader, Cllr Sharon Taylor said, “This is the first time we’ve been involved in the Aviva Women’s Tour and I’m pleased so many people came out to watch these world class cyclists race through our town finishing in the High Street. It’s been a great day and I’m glad the whole community has been involved in supporting this.”

Stevenage Mayor, Cllr Howard Burrell said, “We’ve spent the past few weeks carrying out a whole range of Women’s Tour activities with local schools around the town. I hope seeing these cyclists today race through Stevenage will inspire and encourage children to get active and make use of the vast cycling network we have here in the town.”
