Wild Woods Day in Stevenage

12 May 2015

Stevenage Borough Council is offering families the chance to learn more about the local woodland, take part in pond dipping and den building and join in nature walks and treasure hunts in a fun filled day out on Saturday 16 May.

The free event, which is on from 11am to 4pm at Fairlands Valley Park South Field, is organised by Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust in partnership with Stevenage Borough Council, and is a chance to celebrate and enjoy the local woodland as it bursts into life this spring/summer. There will be a range of activities for families to take part in, and those who dress up as a ‘wild thing’ will receive a free goody bag.

Councillor John Gardner, Executive Member for Environment and Regeneration said, “We’re lucky to have so much woodland in Stevenage and this event is a great chance to learn more about our environment while taking part in fun activities for the whole family. So whether you want to take part in nature talks or treasure hunts there’s something for everyone to enjoy at the Wild Woods event.”

The Wild Woods Day is taking place on Saturday 16 May from 11am to 4pm at Fairlands Valley Park South Field.
