Women’s Tour competition

06 May 2015

To celebrate the Stage 4 finish of the Women’s Tour in the town, Stevenage Borough Council is offering school children the chance to get creative and design the stage winner’s jersey.

Thousands of people are expected to line the streets on Saturday 20 June as some of the best female cyclists in the world race through the town to reach the stage finish in the High Street. And this competition, which is open until 28 May, is a chance for those aged 16 and under who live or go to school in Stevenage, to dig out their pens, pencils or paints, or go online and design the winner’s jersey.

A panel of judges will pick the winning design, with the winner not only getting the chance to stand on the podium in front of thousands and present the jersey to the stage winner, but also a jersey, printed with their design, to keep.

Stevenage Borough Council’s Strategic Director, Matt Partridge said “Next month we get to welcome so many great female cyclists to our town for the Women’s Tour and this is a great opportunity for those with a passion for sport or fashion to get creative and design the stage winner’s jersey.”

All entries must be received by 12 noon on 28 May. The competition is open to children who live or go to school in Stevenage and are under the age of 16 by the submission date. Entries from children aged 12 and under must be accompanied by written consent from a parent or guardian.

Entry forms, the competition terms and conditions, and more information is available on our website www.stevenage.gov.uk
