Stevenage Walking Festival

27 Apr 2015

Stevenage Walking Festival is back for the third year running. The festival, which is supported by Stevenage Borough Council, is giving local walkers the chance to don their boots and take advantage of more than 30 walks that are happening in the area from 2 to 10 May.

Throughout the week residents can choose from long, medium or short picturesque walks that are suitable for every level of ability. Long walks are up to 14 miles, medium walks are around six to eight miles, and short walks are four to five miles. There is also a challenge walk of 27 miles. All walks are free to attend with some specifically designed for dogs and families.

The walking festival, which coincides with Ramblers ‘Get walking’ week, and with the Hertfordshire “Year of Walking”, has been organised by members of Stevenage Leisure 50, North Herts Ramblers and Stevenage Health Walks group.

Stevenage Borough Council Strategic Director, Matt Partridge said, “This is the third year that we’ve supported the Stevenage Walking Festival and I hope that more people than ever take part and enjoy some of the charming walking areas both within Stevenage and in the surrounding countryside.”

Stevenage Walking Festival is on from 2 to 10 May. More information, including the details of all the walks, is available from
