Still time to get So Active in Bedwell

04 Mar 2015

Following the launch of So Active in October last year more than 250 people have taken advantage of the free activities in Bedwell, which have been put on by Stevenage Borough Council and its sporting partners.

Over the past few months, more than 10 new projects have started, including health MOTs, buggy fitness and walking football. All the activities have been aimed at either families, those over 50 or young people.

More sessions are starting every month, from projects helping new mums keep fit to sports sessions for families to get active together, as well as dance classes and outdoor gym sessions for those aged 50 and over.

Councillor Howard Burrell, Executive Member for Culture, Leisure and Sport, said, “As the past few months have shown, So Active caters for everyone, whatever your age or ability. It’s great to see families, young mums and those aged 50 and over enjoying a range of activities in their local area. And with new projects starting each month, make sure you stay up to date with what So Active can offer you.”

So Active is a three-year project that is funded by a £220,000 grant from Sport England. The project is offering free sports, fitness and leisure activities for residents of all ages and abilities in Bedwell.
