07 Jun 2017

Stevenage Borough Council has appointed Patrick Lewis as Assistant Director for Regeneration.

Patrick was previously Director of Regeneration for the Welsh Government and led the Welsh Assembly Government's £140 million Heads of the Valleys Programme. Before then he was a senior manager with Housing Solutions Group, and also worked with Cardiff Bay Development Corporation.

At Stevenage, Patrick will lead the council’s regeneration plans that aim to create a modern town centre for 21st century living where people can live, work and play. The town centre’s regeneration looks to provide new retail units bordering the town square, 600 new homes, investment in the town square, creation of a new linear park, and leisure facilities such as restaurants and bars, as well as a new civic hub, which will incorporate a modern library and health facilities.

Scott Crudgington, Chief Executive of Stevenage Borough Council, said: “Patrick’s appointment will help drive forward one of the town’s top priorities in regenerating the town centre. His wealth of experience and enthusiasm will be vital in helping us create a 21st century town centre for the people of Stevenage. I look forward to working with Patrick and wish him every success at Stevenage Borough Council.”
