Stevenage and East Herts councils have appointed Clare Watson as Assistant Director for Corporate Projects, Customer Services and Technology.

Clare will develop opportunities for sharing technology as part of Stevenage and East Herts councils’ shared service aimed at improving online access to all key services.

Clare, who will be part of Stevenage Borough Council’s new Strategic Leadership Team structure with responsibility for services including IT, customer services and facilities management, will also lead on the development of a new, multi-million pound public sector hub for Stevenage.

Scott Crudgington, Chief Executive of Stevenage Borough Council, said: “Clare joins us at an exciting time as we transform the way we work to better use technology to improve the experience for our customers and residents. Clare’s wealth of experience and enthusiasm will be vital in helping us deliver these key priorities. I look forward to working with Clare and wish her every success at Stevenage and East Herts.”

Liz Watts, Chief Executive of East Herts Council said: “We’re thrilled to have Clare join us at such a crucial time for both East Herts and Stevenage as we take forward our ambitious plans to improve services for our customers.
