Action-packed activities this half term

Half-term holidays are on the horizon and Stevenage Borough Council has a range of exciting activities for young people to take part in this autumn.

Activities at our play centres in Pin Green, Bandley Hill and St Nicholas include cooking, a crazy catch competition and designing and making products for the Dragons Den team challenge. Stevenage residents who are aged five to 14 are welcome at the play centres, which open from 9am till 12.30pm and from 1.30pm till 5pm on Monday 26 to Friday 30 October.

Stevenage Museum will pop up in the Town Square on Saturday 24 and Wednesday 28 October from 11am to 3pm. A free autumnal arts and crafts drop-in session will also be held at the museum on Thursday 29 and Friday 30 October from 1.30pm to 3pm. 

Nature enthusiasts can make a bug house or birdfeeder at a Crafts to Help Nature This Winter event at Hampson Park on Wednesday 28 October from 11am to 3pm. Then on Friday 30 October a range of Halloween activities including a spooky quiz and pumpkin carving will be on offer at the Town Centre Gardens from 11am to 3pm. There are limited numbers available for pumpkin carving so please book by telephoning 01438 218800.

Councillor Richard Henry, Executive Member for Children and Young People, said: “Young people in Stevenage should look no further than our play centres, parks and Museum when looking for exciting activities to take part in this half term. From arts and crafts to face painting and mask making there is something entertaining for all.”
