Family Fun at Fairlands Valley Park Open Day

19 Jun 2015

Now in its fifth year, the Fairlands Valley Park Open Day is back on Sunday 28 June giving Stevenage residents a taste of some of the wide range of activities the park has to offer, including sailing, model boating and fishing.

Visitors to the free family fun day can also meet a variety of organisations including Dog Watch and the Neighbourhood Policing Team. Plus there will be music from the Panacea Steel Pan group and a family treasure hunt. For a small charge children can get their face painted, ride the Scout train, or climb the rock wall.

Councillor John Gardner, Executive Member for Environment and Regeneration, said, “We’re lucky to have so many great parks in Stevenage and this open day at Fairlands Valley is always a great day out for the whole family.

“I hope to see lots of people trying some of the many activities that are on offer here in the park and getting to meet some local organisations as well.”

The Fairlands Valley Park Open Day is taking place on Sunday 28 June from 11am to 3pm. For more information on the event, please call 01438 242323 or email parksandamenities@stevenage.gov.uk
