Recycle even more with Stevenage Borough Council

29 Dec 2014

Stevenage Borough Council is encouraging residents to recycle even more this year by bringing their unwanted Christmas presents along to a series of recycling and reuse events in January.

The three events, which are taking place from 7 to 9 January, are a chance for people to bring along unwanted presents, items such as toys and DVDs, old clothes and small household electrical items (including kettles, toasters, Christmas lights and CD players) to be recycled or swapped.

The recycle and reuse events are taking place on:
• Wednesday 7 January, 5 – 7pm, at the Peartree Park Pavilion
• Thursday 8 January, 10am – 12 noon, at the St Nicholas Park Pavilion
• Friday 9 January, 12 – 2pm, at the Pin Green Children’s Centre

Councillor John Gardner, Executive Member for Environment and Regeneration, said, “Recycling is a priority for Stevenage, and events like these are a chance for our residents to recycle even more. So whether you have unwanted Christmas presents, or items that you no longer use, bring them along to be recycled or reused. After all, one person’s rubbish may be another person’s treasure.”
