There are currently limited funds available to Stevenage residents through the Herts Essex Energy Partnership (HEEP) scheme, for installing replacement gas boilers.
Eligible residents can receive a 100% grant for a new energy-efficient condensing boiler. To be eligible for a new boiler, residents must own their own home, be in receipt of a qualifying benefit* and their existing boiler must be over 15 years old.
As funding for the replacement boilers is very limited and may soon run out, home-owners who meet the above criteria are encouraged to apply as soon as possible by contacting:
Geoff Hammond (Environmental Health)
Tel: 01438 242902
Email: geoff.hammond@stevenage.gov.uk
All applications are subject to qualifying criteria, technical survey and availability of funding.
*Qualifying benefits include:
- Council Tax Benefit
- Housing Benefit
- Pension Credit
- Income-based Employment and Support Allowance
- Income-based Job Seekers Allowance
- Income support
- Working Tax / Child Tax Credit below a certain income level, where a child under 16 lives at the property
