Boundary Commission for England publishes revised proposals

23 Oct 2017

The Boundary Commission for England (BCE) has published its revised composition for 21 of the 57 constituencies in the Eastern Region, which includes Stevenage.

The proposed make up of Stevenage’s Parliamentary constituency is unchanged from the initial proposal of seeing the inclusion of Walkern, Datchworth, Aston and Watton-at-Stone all from East Herts Council.

This review follows a decision by Parliament to reduce the number of constituencies in the UK to 600 from 650, and to ensure that the number of electors in each constituency is equal.

An initial 12-week consultation was held in the autumn last year, giving the public the first chance to view and comment on BCE’s plans, followed by a second consultation in the spring of this year.

To have your say, see public comments from the first two rounds of consultations and view the maps, visit the BCE’s website, The deadline for responses is 11 December.
