Consultation begins for local plan modifications

13 Jun 2017

Stevenage Borough Council has begun a six-week public consultation process on proposed modifications to Stevenage’s local plan.

People are invited to have their say by Monday 24 July on the changes to the Plan put forward by an independent Planning Inspector. Earlier this year the Inspector led a series of hearing sessions where the views of residents and businesses were taking into consideration.

The modifications aim to resolve any objections to make the plan a clearer and more robust document. The council’s proposed local plan sets out a vision for the town to 2031, including proposals for regenerating the town centre, creating new employment opportunities and new housing sites to build 7,600 homes in line with Government requirements.

All comments will be passed onto the independent Planning Inspector who will make the final decision on the contents of the Plan.
