Play area consultation

15 Feb 2017

During 2017 Stevenage Borough Council will invest in improving a number of play areas across the town to ensure excellent provision for children and young people.  The sites to be improved in 2017 include:

  • Archer Road (Pin Green)
  • Leaves Spring (Shephall)
  • Canterbury Way (St Nicholas)
  • Chepstow Close (Martins Wood)
  • Martins Wood (Martins Wood)
  • The Oval (Martins Wood)

We would like the help of local children and young people in selecting the equipment that they would like to enjoy in their local play area, and invite each child to identify their five most favoured items of equipment. The play area at Chepstow Close will make provision for all age ranges, all other sites will be designed for children up to 11 years old.

Use the link below to tell us your five favourite items of play equipment.

Consultation for all sites closes at noon on Friday 31 March 2017.

When we have all of the results we will be able to identify the most requested items for each age group, and these will be included in the design of the play area.  You will be able to see updates and pictures of designs on this website once they are finalised.

Works to the Pin Green and Shephall play areas will start in June and be completed in time for the school summer holidays. Works to the St Nicholas and Martins Wood play areas will start in September, and be completed by the October half-term break.
