What is a Baby and Toddler Group?
What do they offer?
Baby and Toddler Groups give parents and carers the opportunity to:
- Provide developmental play opportunities for their children
- Meet together and socialise
- Receive mutual support (and so reduce social isolation)
- Provide a route to other support services
Baby and Toddler Groups are usually run by parents and carers themselves and they rely on input and help from the other adults who attend the group to ensure it's smooth running. A small fee is usually charged to cover hire of the premises and refreshments.
There are many Baby and Toddler groups in Stevenage and each one is unique in the way it is run. It is a good idea to visit a few groups to see which ones suit you and your child best.
