Discover different techniques in costume making and textile art.
- Have a go at finger braiding, blackwork and embroidery.
- Design your own rag rug or purchase a rug from an experienced artist.
- See demonstrations in lacework and embroidery using different materials throughout the afternoon.
- Handmade goods for sale by local artists.
After enjoying the event why not explore our new exhibition – All Dressed Up. From glamorous gowns to patriotic boots, discover how clothing and fashion has changed from Tudor Times to the 1970s. The exhibition includes a dress worn by Dame Barbara Cartland, dresses worn by the Queen Mother’s family and designer pieces from Mary Quant and Liberty.
See if you can lace a corset as tight as you can or become a model on our catwalk.
