Rents and service charges for tenants of supported housing
You are responsible for paying your rent. You can pay your rent in any of the following ways:
- Direct debit
- Standing order
- Telephone banking
- Bank giro credit
- Postal payments (do not send cash in the post)
- At the Post Office
- At the Customer Service Centre
- Online

Service charges
In addition to your rent you will also be charged for a number of services you receive. These are as follows:
- Maintenance charge: This charge is for the cost of window cleaning, grounds maintenance and the additional facilities that are provided for tenants in the schemes.
- Reactive caretaking charge: Where a tenant lives in a flat linked with a reactive caretaking service there is a charge for this service
- Heating charge: This charge is used to pay for the fuel used in communal heating systems. It is charged to residents of blocks of flats with communal heating or electric storage heaters. For some communal heating systems this also includes hot water.
- Supported housing decorating scheme: This charge is a contribution to the cost of decorating both communal areas and individual properties.
- Supporting people charge: This charge contributes to the cost of providing support services.
