Abbeyfield Society manages Lindon House in the Old Town, which provides accommodation with supportive care and companionship in 9 bedsit rooms, for single people over retirement age. Their waiting list is usually open.

Aldwyck Housing Association

Aldwyck Housing Association manages over 200 flats and houses across Stevenage including some sheltered housing.  They also manage a number of units of supported housing.  They accept Council nominations for all of their empty homes except the supported housing.  Aldwyck have one mobility standard bungalow at Boxfield Farm and one wheelchair user's bungalow at Cardiff Close.

Anchor Trust manages a sheltered housing scheme at Bradshaw Court in Shephall, which comprises one and two bedroom flats for people over retirement age. They accept nominations from the Council and their own waiting list is open. One flat at Bradshaw Court is adapted for wheelchair users.

The Guinness Trust

The Guinness Trust manages a number of properties, including some sheltered housing, in Bedwell, St Nicholas and Great Ashby. They accept Council nominations for 75% of vacancies, and the waiting list for the sheltered flats is normally open. Lists for other properties are normally closed, as vacancies are rare. They accept nominations from the Council and their own waiting list is usually open.

Hastoe Housing Association manages one bedroom flats for single people and couples under retirement age at Roebuck Court in Broadwater.  They accept Council nominations for all these available properties.  In addition, Hastoe are also developing a number of new build houses and flats on the former Dixons site in Pin Green that are due to be completed during 2010/2011.  The Council will have nomination rights to all these new homes.

Springboard Housing Association are part of the Genesis Group and manage over 100 houses and flats on recently built small estates across Stevenage. The Council has nomination rights to up to 100% of their available properties.

St. Pancras & Humanist Housing Association

St. Pancras & Humanist Housing Association is part of the Origin Group and manages sheltered flats and bungalows for older people at Blakeney Road, Symonds Green. For this sheltered housing they accept Council nominations for 50 per cent of available properties and the remainder come from their own waiting list, which is usually open. Applicants for sheltered housing should contact the Sheltered Housing Lettings Administrator on 020 7209 9222.

They also manage flats and houses for single people, couples and families across Stevenage. For these properties they accept Council nominations for 75 per cent of their available properties, but they have no waiting list for this area.

St Pancras also manage a number of properties as supported housing for people with learning disabilities.

Griffin Housing Association is also part of the Origin Group.  Griffin manage a number of properties (flats, houses and shared houses) at the Lister Hospital, Stevenage.  Priority for vacancies is given to keyworkers but non-keyworkers can also apply.  Applicants must apply directly to Griffin – contact details are on Origin Group’s website.

William Sutton Homes

William Sutton Homes is part of the Affinity Sutton Group.  They manage over 300 flats and houses throughout Stevenage including three special needs bungalows.  All properties are to a mobility standard and three houses are suitable for wheelchair users.

They accept Council nominations for 75 per cent of their available properties. They have no open waiting list for houses, but this situation is reviewed at regular intervals.

The waiting list is open, and applications should be made in person to the Common Room at 1 Bader Close between 6:00 - 7:00pm on a Wednesday evening.
