Paying your rent

Use the 'Pay Online' button below to make a payment or to check your balance, all you need is your account number which is 9 digits beginning with a 1. If you do not know your account number you can apply online for it to be sent to you.


Rent is payable weekly and may include other regular or communal charges associated with the property.

Paying your rent

Your rent is payable on a Monday, a week in advance. It must also be paid in advance if you pay fortnightly or monthly. You can pay your rent

  • standing order
  • bank giro
  • by telephone on 01438 242345
  • by cheque or debit card at the pay machine in the Customer Service Centre

Why should I change the way I pay my rent?

We have increased the number of days you can pay your rent via Direct Debit from two to four. We now offer payment dates on the 1st, 8th, 15th & 22nd of every month.

Direct Debit

Direct Debit is an easy way in which you can pay your rent to the council from your bank or building society account each month.  To download a Direct Debit Mandate, or for more information about Direct Debits, please use the links below.

You can manage your rent account online using our Online Customer Account. By signing up you can view your current rent balance and recent payment history. To sign up, or to log in use the links below:

Payments at the Post Office

You can also now pay your rent at British Post Offices anywhere in the world using our Post Office Payment Card. You can request a payment card by contacting the Customer Service Centre.
