Gas Safe Advice

Leaseholders living in or letting a property equipped with gas appliances need to understand and comply with the law relating to gas safety. You have a responsibility to yourself and the residents in your home to ensure gas appliances and flues are safe.

Key Leaseholder Scheme

As a leaseholder you can actively participate in the inspection of communal repairs and other works carried out to your flat block by volunteering as a Key Leaseholder.

Meetings and minutes

Forum meetings are held four times a year and are open to all leaseholders. Non leaseholders may only attend if agreed prior to the meeting. Use the link above to find dates of meetings and minutes of previous meetings.

Leaseholder surgeries

Leaseholders can book evening appointments to meet with a member of the team to discuss individual concerns that relate to the block that they live in.

Gas safety

Your gas appliances should be serviced every 12 months. This is important to make sure that poisonous carbon monoxide gas is not being released into your home. Leaseholders can arrange to have their gas serviced by one of our contractors.

The Green Deal

The Green Deal is an innovative financing mechanism that lets people pay for energy-efficiency improvements through savings on their energy bills.

Major Works and Qualifying Long Term Agreements (Section 20)

Major works are usually large ‘one-off’ projects designed to extend and improve the life of your building and could include the replacement of old windows or the replacement of a broken lift and are payable under the terms of your lease.

A qualifying long term agreement (QLTA) is an agreement with a contractor to provide goods or services, which runs more than 12 months and which results in leaseholders incurring an individual charge of at least £100 per year.
