Community Support

Community-SupportIf you are over 55 and living within Stevenage, whether you are a council tenant or home owner, you could benefit from our Community Support Service - bringing the support we provide in Sheltered Housing to you in your own home.
The aims of the support service are:

  • To support older and or disabled people to live independently in their own home
  • To help improve quality of life
  • To help improve personal safety and security by giving reassurance and peace of mind

The Supported Housing Officer can telephone up to five times a week and visit twice a week (Monday to Friday) to offer support and guidance with anything from:

  • Care and health services
  • Aids and adaptations for the home
  • Support in dealing with any emergencies that may arise
  • Support and encouragement to take part in social activities in the local community as well as those taking place in a nearby sheltered housing scheme

Our service can be for a short period of time for example when leaving hospital or following a bereavement and this service is available in addition to our Careline Community Alarm or on its own.

For more information or to arrange for a Supported Housing Officer to visit to discuss our service further please complete the referral form or contact Supported Housing on 01438 242666 or e-mail
