Flexicare is sheltered housing where you rent your own property ranging from a studio to a two bedroom flat or bungalow with the added bonus of care services on site. This enables us to provide the right level of support and care to help you maintain your independence in your own home.

We have two flexicare schemes:

The supported housing staff will provide a 24 hours a day, seven days a week response to emergency calls.

  • To support older and disabled people to live independently in their own home
  • To help improve your quality of life
  • To help improve your personal safety and security by giving you reassurance and peace of mind.
  • To involve and consult you to promote choice
  • To provide flexible care and support to your changing needs.

The short stay unit

At Silkin Court we have a short stay unit where you can come for a short stay to see if you like living in Flexicare before you make the decision to move.  There is a small daily charge for this, please contact us for further information.

You may be recommended to come to the short stay unit as part of our assessment to make sure we can meet your needs.

Next steps

If you would like to arrange a visit to our flexicare scheme or find out more information please can contact the supported housing team.

There is a waiting list for flexicare and a panel meeting is held each month to discuss current applicants. Properties are then allocated by matching care and support needs and the suitability of the property.
