Holidays

The Council arranges 7-night summer holidays to Eastbourne for Stevenage residents who are over the age of 60.

The Congress Hotel has level access, two lifts and ground floor shower facilities that can accommodate a wheelchair. Holidays include dinner, bed and breakfast, entertainment and coach travel.

The Holiday scheme is advertised in the Comet in November. The date that application forms can be collected from the Customer Services Centre is Monday 26 November 2007.

Completed forms must be handed in by mid January. The exact date is specified on the application form.

Holidays are allocated on a 'first come, first served' basis and a waiting list is held for unsuccessful applicants. We do have cancellations and this year, everyone requesting a double/twin room was successful. Single rooms are extremely popular and you may not get a holiday if this is your only choice.

We no longer offer refunds and strongly advise people to take out travel insurance: we send out Age Concern's insurance leaflet.
