Regulatory and other Committees

These committees are required by law to oversee specific functions of the Council, such as the issuing of licenses and the determination of planning applications

  • Appointments Committee

    The Appointments Committee meets as and when necessary for the appointment of Senior Officers at CE or Director level.

  • Audit Committee

    The Audit Committee will meet 4 times a year. Membership is made up of 5 Members (Including 1 independent non-elected Member).

  • General Purposes Committee

    The General Purposes Committee is responsible for the granting of all Licences and the hearing of appeals (except Licenses under the 2003 Licensing Act).

  • Licensing Committee

    The Licensing Committee is responsible for the granting of Licences under the Licensing Act 2003.

  • Planning and Development Committee

    The Planning and Development Committee considers all major planning applications submitted to the Council. Details of each agenda will appear here five working days before the day of the meeting.

  • Standards Committee

    The Standards Committee’s remit is to promote and maintain high standards of conduct by Councillors.

  • Statement of Accounts Committee

    The Statement of Accounts Committee meets once a year to approve the Statement of Accounts in accordance with the Account and Audit Regulations 2003.

  • Stevenage Highways Joint Member Panel

    The Stevenage Highways Joint Member Panel is a Joint meeting of the Borough Council and the County Council to prioritise local highway needs.

  • Stevenage, North Herts and East Herts Joint CCTV Committee

    The Three Councils of Stevenage, North Herts and East Herts have constituted a tripartite Committee to jointly pool resources and work together on CCTV coverage in the three districts.

  • Stevenage/Uttlesford Audit Partnership Joint Committee

    The Stevenage and Uttlesford Audit Partnership Joint Committee is a joint audit partnership with Uttlesford District Council. Each Authority offers Audit advice and recommendations in a reciprocal arrangement.
