The Mayor, as the first citizen of the town, is the recognised spokesperson and representative on all civic and ceremonial ocassions and is the figurehead of the community that the council serves.

Mayoral Invitations
Organisations either within or outside the Borough of Stevenage can invite the Mayor to attend an event they are organising. The Mayors’ Secretary will respond to invitations and request an engagement form the be completed.
The Mayors’ secretary will enter it in the Mayor’s diary and all necessary steps will be taken to fill this duty. Due to demand it may not be possible to attend every event to which the Mayor is invited.
