Springfield House

In the late 1960s the newly formed Old Town Community Association needed accommodation: Springfield House provided the solution.

Former home of the late Jeremiah Inns, the imposing Springfield House fronts on to the High Street near the bowling green*.

Springfield House is “the only Community Centre (in Stevenage) with a huge garden out the back” making it perfect for weddings, according to centre manager Barbara Baxter.

Another unique feature of the two-storey red brick building, built mostly in the 19th century, is that its original features are still obvious today.
