Land and property - availability lists
Information on residential and commercial land and property that is available for purchase or for rent in the local area.
The current market for commercial land in Stevenage is fairly strong. Demand from occupiers is good with interest from local and national organisations, with a particular focus in the distribution and aerospace sectors. These market characteristics have led to a land price growth from under £500,000 per hectare/£210,000 per acre in 1994 to current levels in excess of £1,235,500 per hectare/£600,000 per acre for prime industrial land.
The market for industrial premises is good with average rents of around £6 per sq.ft, with prime industrial rents at approximately £6 per sq. ft. Rentals for prime office accommodation both in and out of town are in excess of £16 per sq. ft, as at June 2006.
Stevenage has a range of quality accommodation for retailing, warehousing, manufacturing, offices and corporate headquarters. The quality of the Stevenage offer has attracted high profile companies such as GSK, MBDA, EADS Astrium, Dixons Mastercare, Fujitsu and John Lewis Distribution.
