Are you a small business (less than 10 employees) and want to try out a new product or idea??
If the answer is Yes then Stevenage Borough Council’s new Test Trading Grant scheme may be able to help.
A grant of up to £500 will be available from January 2010 and will cover the following or similar activities:-
Funds to test trade a product or service
- Setting up a market stall
- Expanding into a new market/diversifying in to a new product
- Promote a new product or service
- Purchase of equipment or tools to launch a new business
- Produce a prototype
Conditions of payment
- Proof of expenditure will be required within 1 month of the payment.
- Successful applicants should have appropriate support from a Business Advisor both before and after the application process.
- A monitoring form will need to be completed and forwarded to the Council after 12 months.

To apply for this grant please download the application and guidance forms available on the right and contact the Business and Technology Centre to arrange a meeting with an advisor.
Please ensure you view the guidance notes through the process. After completing the form applicants must have their application assessed and recommended for approval by a member of the Business Support Team at the Business & Technology Centre (BTC).
The Council will make a final decision within 2 weeks and successful applicants will then be issued with a cheque within 10 working days.
