Salary

Competitive salary scales with annual reviews on the 1 April.

Holiday

24 - 30 days holiday per year. Employees with Local Government service will receive 27 days leave after 5 years accumulated service and 30 days after 10 years accumulated service.

Flexible working

We offer flexible working hours between 7am – 10pm (Monday – Saturday) subject to operational requirements. This flexibility enables employees to have more freedom to arrange their working day.

Travelling to work

SBC employees who work in the town centre and come to work by car will receive a Car Park Season Ticket free of charge. We also offer the use of eCars for work related travel between 8am and 5pm.
 
A loan towards the purchase of an annual or half yearly season ticket may be made in approved cases to permanent employees or employees on fixed term contracts expected to last 12 months of more.

Childcare Vouchers

Our employees can elect to sacrifice up to £243 per month from their salary towards the cost of Child Care. Computershare vouchers can be used to pay for a wide range of childcare for children under 16. The vouchers are non-taxable and exempt from National Insurance contributions, and can help reduce your childcare costs.

Retirement Gifts

We reward staff who retire at aged 55 or above with at least five years continuous service. Retirement awards are based on a payment for each year of continuous service.
