Youth Mayor - 2018/19

Youth Mayor of Stevenage Ugonna (Ugo) Umunnakwe Ugonna (Ugo) Umunnakwe is the seventh Stevenage Youth Mayor and will formally represent young people of the town in the role of ambassador; he will take part in civic events, attend Council meetings and support Stevenage Youth Council to promote the interests of young people.

Ugo is a student at The John Henry Newman School, and is in year 11; during his year as Youth Mayor he would like to focus on education and crime. Ugo will base his year in office on three fundamental principles: honesty, loyalty and engagement of young people.

As Youth Mayor, Ugo will direct the expenditure of a Local Youth Budget of £3,300 to be spent on projects, organisations and groups.
