Summer Fillerz 2017

Summer Fillerz is a four week programme of free activities for Stevenage young people. The initiative is planned and delivered by Youth Engagement Stevenage (YES) a partnership of youth agencies, statutory services and projects supporting young people. The programme offers bookable and open access activities, and is co-ordinated and funded by Stevenage Borough Council.

Activities marked (B) are bookable. These activities can be booked on the telephone number or email provided. Booking Forms (if needed) can be obtained from the organisation running the activity (please see timetable contact information). For all participants under 18 years Booking Forms MUST be completed and signed by a parent, guardian or carer before they can take part.

Activities not marked with a (B) are on a first come first served basis and some of these may have a maximum number who can take part.

Supervision

Organisations and Services delivering the Summer Fillerz programme will ensure that activities are staffed with appropriately trained workers. However, staff cannot take responsibility for any young person who leaves the activity.

Safeguarding

Youth Engagement Stevenage believes that you have the right to be and feel safe when you are taking part in a Summer Fillerz activity. We will do our very best to provide you with the best care when taking part in any activity.

Activities

Bookable activities (B) must be booked with the organisation running the activity. See event information listed below. For details of when they are being held see the Events section for details.

Megamix (B) (M)

Megamix is a youth independence project for young people with learning difficulties and/or a disability. Come and join us and have some fun, make new friends and take part in the activities or just chill. Activities must be booked by Friday 28 July 2017.

Archery (B)

Basic Archery Instruction by qualified instructors @ Bowes Lyon Centre. These sessions are bookable and numbers are limited.

Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE)

If you would like to start you Bronze Award in September then come along and meet the staff and other participants at Bowes Lyon Centre 6pm to 9pm. Open to all young people from school Year 9 and above.

15 The Hyde

Join us at 15 The Hyde a project for young people aged 13-19 years.

Fairland’s Valley Park (B)

Head for the Heights, try out a High Ropes Experience. Fun on the water with Paddle Sports, Canoeing, Kayaking or Dinghy Sailing.

Air Space Trampoline Park (B)

Air Space Freestyle Jumping 5pm to 6pm meet @ Air Space on Stevenage Leisure Park.

Football Sessions

Take part in Stevenage Football Club Foundation Premier League Kicks Programme! Free football sessions for young people aged 8-19 years at Marriott’s School. See information for session times.
