How many bedrooms do you need?

Please note:

· If you are aged 61 or over the current changes will not affect you.

· This calculator is only a guide and specifically relates to the numbers
  of bedrooms in your household. It does not cover any other changes
  in relation to the Welfare Reform such as Benefit Caps.
  If you are affected you will have already been contacted by
  Stevenage Borough Council.

· If another adult is living in your house, you will still be counted as
  having a spare bedroom for the purposes of calculating your
  Housing Benefit.

· From 15th May 2012, local authorities should allow an extra bedroom
  for children who are unable to share because of their severe
  disabilities. In order for this change to be considered claimants will be
  required to submit medical evidence to support their request
