Planning application forms and application guidance

You can make an application online through the National Planning Portal site or click on the headings below to download the application form and related information on how to complete the forms and return by post.

To find out the cost of your application, please read the Governments guide to Planning Fees. You can also use the fees calculator and volume calculator which are available through the National Planning Portal.

Please note that Regulations to introduce 20% increase in planning fees were made on 20 December 2017, which means we will be able to start applying the fee increase from 17 January 2018. These Regulations will also introduce the following fees:-

  • A new fee of £402 per 0.1 hectares for Permission in Principle applications;
  • The ability for us to charge for applications for planning permission following the removal of permitted development rights through Article 4 Directions or by condition;
  • A fee of £96 for prior approval applications (non-householder) to permitted development rights that were introduced in April 2015 and April 2017.
