Planning application fees and how to pay

There are different fees you will need to pay us depending on the type of application you are submitting. You can find out how much your planning application is by using the Guide to Planning Application Fees.

You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to download this document. You can download Adobe Reader for free if you do not have this programme. If you are having problems opening any of the Adobe pdf files, please see our help page.

Alternatively, you can also use the fees calculator and the volume calculator which are on the National Planning Portal website to help you.

How to pay

You can pay your application in a number of ways:

  • By cheque, payable to Stevenage Borough Council. Send it with your application to our main address at Planning and Regulation, Stevenage Borough Council, Daneshill House, Danestrete, Stevenage, Hertfordshire, SG1 1HN;
  • By debit or credit card over the phone, one you have submitted your application. You will need to telephone 01438 242166 or 01438 242838;
  • By asking a member of our Validation Team to contact you to obtain your card details. They will then complete the transaction for you.

Note: Stevenage Borough Council is looking to provide an online payment system. Once this system is operational, this website page will updated accordingly.
